Nouns name people, places, things, and ideas. In English, nouns can be singular or plural and possessive or non-possessive. Possessive nouns and noun phrases indicate a possession of or some other relationship to another word or phrase. Punctuation marks are a convention of written language that ensure the clarity of writing for both readers and writers. Apostrophes are a punctuation mark used to form possessive nouns and noun phrases. Students will learn to form the possessive of singular nouns, plural nouns, and noun phrases. Students must have experience with reading and writing English. Students will receive a printable sheet with rules for forming possessive nouns and noun phrases.

I wrote my English studies thesis on multiple modals in American English. For the past year, I have been studying the English spelling system through Linguist-Educator Exchange (LEX) and Spellinars. I recently published the 'Teach a Student to Read' reading program and 'A Form-Function Description of the Grammar of the Modern English Language for Junior High' on Amazon. I continue to study English grammar and spelling on my own. I additionally write linguistics posts for my personal website.
