English Language Arts Tutoring - Reading and/or Writing

Students will receive individualized support to match their personalized needs and goals in reading and/or writing. 

We will spend each session working on 1 to 2 goals at a time. I can design individualized lessons for learners, or they can feel free to bring assignments to work on during tutoring. 

My tutoring sessions are suitable for students enrolled in public school, private school, or homeschool programs. Formerly, I was a public school teacher, and I maintain permanent state certification through continuing education programs. 

My reading tutoring sessions address comprehension, phonics and phonemic awareness (if needed), vocabulary development, and fluency (if needed). When I tutor writing, I focus on original idea generation, idea development, structure, grammar and mechanics. We always start by looking at idea development in writing before focusing on grammar and mechanics. This approach helps encourage learners' creativity and motivation to write.
