In these private reading lessons, and all of our classes, our approach to teaching combines the Socratic method, traditional teaching methods, games, and hands-on projects, wherever possible, to create an engaging learning environment.
Class Experience
Your learner will have the opportunity to further develop their reading skills by reading independently (or shared reading with me) from a chosen book. Throughout the session, we will use the book as a textbook to go over vocabulary and other literary terms, deepening their understanding and appreciation of the text. CHRISTINE SANTOS Christine Santos is a dedicated homeschool mom of three who has been leading workshops for the past 10 years. She holds a degree in Journalism with Honors and firmly believes that reading is the most important place to learn all things. Christine's teaching style is discussion-based, as she loves engaging with her students and helping them to think critically about the material. She is passionate about the power of reading to open minds and spark curiosity. In addition, Christine is a certified crisis counselor and is, currently, Christine pursuing further education in order to become a certified substance use disorder counselor, trauma informed coach and anger management coach. She is excited to continue making a positive impact on the lives of her learners.

This class is not a phonics class and will not be covering any phonics lessons. The focus is on reading accountability and literary terms. There will never be any personal information shared.
