Welcome to English Language Arts: The Essentials of Paragraph Writing! Embark on a fun-filled four-week journey into the world of paragraph writing with our new self-paced class! Designed for young writers, this class provides a structured approach to developing strong writing skills through engaging, pre-recorded lessons. What Will Be Taught? ♦ In this course, students will learn the essential components of paragraph writing, including structure, clarity, and detail. Each week, we work on a different kind of paragraph to develop our creative writing skills. What Topics Will We Cover? 🪐 Week 1: Descriptive Writing: Students will design their own unique planets, using sensory details and vivid adjectives to bring their creations to life. 🥪 Week 2: Procedural Writing: Learners will create the ultimate sandwich by crafting clear and concise procedural paragraphs that outline each step of the process. 🍪 Week 3: Persuasive Writing: In the cookie contest, students will write persuasive paragraphs to convince others why their imaginary cookie creation should win. 🌈 Week 4: Personal Narrative Writing: Through the “Yes Day” theme, students will write personal narratives, imagining a day filled with their favorite activities and experiences. How is the Class Structured? ♦ The class is organized into four weekly modules, each featuring pre-recorded video lessons that guide students through the writing process. Each week includes: 1. Graphic organizers to help students outline their thoughts and organize their ideas. 2. Lessons that provide step-by-step instructions to create their paragraphs. 3. Editing worksheets to help learners edit their work. Our teaching style is engaging and student-centered, utilizing clear explanations and visual aids to facilitate learning. Students will have access to examples and templates that illustrate effective writing techniques, empowering them to develop their unique voices and learn how to edit their work for clarity and impact. By the end of this four-week class, students will have gained valuable skills in paragraph writing, created a portfolio of their work, and built the confidence to express their ideas through writing. Join us for an engaging experience that will ignite your passion for writing!
