In this meeting, your student should bring with them an already-completed essay that they have been assigned for class. In our time together, we will work to improve this essay in a way that teaches your student how to edit essays effectively in the future without turning to AI. We will focus on articulating arguments and learning rhetorical skills to strengthen them. We will focus on how to structure an essay in the way that best suits their argument. Finally, we will focus on the mechanics of the essay and any stylistic choices. I have a love for English grammar, so that will be a big focus in this class. My teaching style is strengths-based, so instead of just working on elements that could use improvements, we will work together to nourish the places where your student flourishes.
