Class Experience
Overview: In this ongoing course, classes will take place once a week. Each day/week will cover a new topic within English Language Arts (ELA). Additionally, the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) will be utilized as a tool to guide each new topic. Topics include: reading, writing, speaking & listening, and language. **Please note: as each week will be a new topic, the student will [not] need to review the previous week's lesson to understand the current week's topic.** What are CCSS and...
Students will improve their understanding and ability to work independently in the following areas of English Language Arts: reading, writing, speaking & listening, and language.
There are no required homework assignments for this class.
Students will need a pen, pencil, highlighter, and a print out of materials for that week. The worksheet and resources needed will be posted in the classroom 2 days before class begins. It is best to print the materials prior to class to be fully prepared.
35 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
