This ongoing course develops the following skills for the Cambridge English IGCSE exam - Paper 1 and Paper 2, but also all skills required for all English Language exams. English skills covered: -develop the ability to communicate clearly, accurately and effectively when speaking and writing -use a wide range of vocabulary, and the correct grammar, spelling and punctuation -develop a personal style and an awareness of the audience being addressed Each week students will focus on one of the exam questions: Paper 1 (text A) Question 1 - comprehension task Paper 1 (text B) Question 2 - summary task Paper 1 (text C) Question 2 - short answer questions on vocabulary and phrasing Paper 1 (text C) Question 2 - language analysis Paper 1 (text C) question 3 - extended response to reading - modify , use and develop ideas and details Paper 2 (directed writing) - discursive/argumentative/persuasive writing Paper 2 (composition) - descriptive or narrative creative writing Grammar and punctuation Each lesson will follow the same format. Students will be provided with exam style exemplar texts and questions. A short lecture style powerpoint introducing the task and the marking criteria will be followed by working through the questions. Students will then review exemplar answers and receive verbal and written feedback (marked against the marking criterias) on independent written tasks. PLEASE NOTE THE ONCE A COMPLETE PAPER 1 AND PAPER 2 ARE COMPLETE THE STRUCTURE OF THE LESSONS REPEAT WITH ALL NEW READING RESOURCES AND WRITING TASKS

How to approach and answer questions for the Cambridge English IGCSE - PLEASE NOTE this course is specific to the Cambridge IGCSE - however the EDEXCEL course covers similar skills but the question and exam papers are not structured in the same way.
