Class Experience

Students will memorize definitions of the basic parts of speech, learn how to locate verbs, subjects, adjectives, adverbs, and direct objects in sentences, and learn to create sentence diagrams to help further understand the relationships between the words in a sentence.
One short homework assignment will follow each class. The purpose of the homework is to reinforce skills learned in the preceding class or classes. Assignments are done individually and should take no more that 15 minutes to complete. Bonus questions and suggestions for further study will often appear on the homework page for those students who would like to extend the exercises or get a bit more practice.
I will supply curriculum materials in the form of handouts.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students will check their own homework in class to be sure they understand each new concept. Informal assessments will be ongoing.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
