What's your favorite _____? Think you can come up with a funny story about it!? This is a class ALL about making crazy, silly, weird, upside-down, hilarious stories! We will practice using parts of speech (like nouns, adjectives, verbs...don't worry, I will explain them as we go along!) by adding random words into a pre-made story about this class' theme. Students will improve their understanding of parts of speech (nouns, adjectives, verbs, etc.) and will build confidence as they quickly improve their English and communication skills while laughing and creating with peers. There is an emphasis on student engagement, and students will see how their individuality and special contributions can help a story become fun and meaningful! Friendships will be built!
I have been a librarian for over a decade. In this time, I have worked with students of all ages (college to elementary) on their reading, organization, and grammar skills. I have also been teaching English online for the last three years. I have been with VIPKid, an online ESL teaching program, for 3 years, and I have been with Magic Ears (another ESL teaching program) for the last year. In this time, I have learned to elicit total physical response while engaging young learners, teaching curriculum based on learning English as a second language. I have worked in both one-on-one and four-on-one virtual settings. I am comfortable with all ages and larger groups of children.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
