In this ongoing class, you will learn how to draw information from fiction, poetry and non-fiction texts. I have more years of experience than I care to think about (!) in delivering English to children from primary age, right through to young adults. I have taught many young adults who failed to pass their English GCSE in school to gain the almost equivalent Functional Skills English qualification after they have left school. This is a topic I am extremely passionate about - literacy skills are a vital necessity in life. If a person can read, they can learn. If they can read, they can write. If they know the rules for grammar and punctuation, they can write well! If the classes are fun, they learn even more. These classes are fun! Outside of Outschool, I also work as a proofreader for students at two local universities and as an editor for authors of both fiction and non-fiction books. I am also a published author.

All material used will be provided by me in advance of the lessons. Handouts will need to be downloaded and printed prior to class in order for your child to gain the most from each lesson.
