A1: English Class (Speaking Conversation, Vocabulary, Writing, EFL, ESL, TESOL) Welcome to my small group English class, where we learn together and support each other to become better at English. My goal is to create a friendly and helpful environment where students can feel more confident in their language skills. Who is this class for? This A1 speaking class is perfect for beginners who have some basic exposure to English and are working on creating sentences independently. Ideal for young learners who know a few words and want to build their confidence in speaking through interactive and fun activities. If your child is already comfortable with basic sentences and simple conversations, consider my A2 level class for more advanced practice. What topics will you cover? Some sample topics are: - Pets - My Family - My Neighborhood - Transportation - Land Animals - At School - My Morning Routine - My Home - Asking Questions - My Feelings How is this class structured? Each class starts with a friendly greeting and an opportunity for each student to share something about their day. Next, we introduce the day's topic and review a few key vocabulary words related to it. Then, we use the new vocabulary in sentences; practice creating simple sentences and answering basic questions about the topic (e.g., "Do you like...?", "What is your favorite...?"). Finally, if time allows, we practice what we learned with a fun game or other interactive activity where students can practice what they learned in a more independent manner. Come and join us! Hello, and thank you for taking the time to get to know me! My name is Aroa and I am passionate about learning. There's few things in life that get me as excited as learning more about a topic I find interesting, and sharing what I learned with others.
I graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor's Degree in Education majoring in Elementary School Education and in English as a Foreign Language. I am a licensed K-12 teacher.
I have been teaching for more than 15 years now. I was an Elementary School teacher in North Carolina for 5 years. Then I started teaching online, which I have been doing for over 10 years now.
Teaching students with limited English proficiency has taught me how to explain things in a way that is simple and easy to understand. I believe that every student can benefit from that kind of instruction. I also believe that the student should be the center of the learning process. I like helping my students take control of the learning process, setting small, clear goals in front of them, helping them achieve them and then celebrating their success with them.
In my free time, I love spending time with my husband and my dog Pancake. I love learning new things, especially related to technology and languages. I am also a very creative person that loves writing and graphic design.
