Time-travel through history in the Magic Tree House with Jack and Annie while learning with new friends! This class is taught in English.
I have been teaching ESL (English as a Second Language) online for over 2 years with VIPKid. I am TESOL certified and hold a Minor in English Literature from the University of California at San Diego. I have taught children for over 20 years both as an ESL teacher and as a homeschool educator teaching a variety of subjects including English, Science, History, and Cooking for grades K-12.
Students should read each book prior to the beginning of class and be prepared to discuss.
Students will need the Magic Tree House book of the week for each class. They can be bought online, from a local store, or checked out from your library. E-book versions are also acceptable. Please contact the teacher for buying suggestions, if needed. In order for students to participate in the game, they will need a second device such as a phone or tablet to use the Kahoot App.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
These books are highly appropriate for young readers but do contain mild peril situations that are resolved by the end of the story (happy endings).
