The students in this class will: Read and understand elements of different genres (poetry, literary fiction, non-fiction) Support their answers by using details and facts from a text Understand and apply grammar rules, punctuation, capitalization Write a complete paragraph with topic sentence and supporting details Write an essay with at least 3 complete paragraphs Understand the complete writing process and apply this to their writing Learn to develop and diversify their writing
