In this 5 week social class for English language learners, we practice our English conversation skills. We learn to ask and answer questions about topics relevant to daily life. Come join us for fun learning in a caring atmosphere!

Welcome to English Conversation Circle! This class builds English speaking confidence! It is a fun, interactive class for beginning English Language Learners. In each lesson, your learner will practice conversing in English with up to 3 other learners facilitated by a caring, certified K-8 Teacher. Classes are designed to improve students’ English pronunciation and conversation skills about things from their daily lives. Students will learn the English vocabulary to describe their experiences and the world around them. 

Our Circle Time topics include include, technology, school, family, and home.  We use engaging, colorful slide show images to facilitate conversation, learn English vocabulary, and practice grammar skills to speak in complete English sentences. Learners will practice these skills through engaging conversations and guided games. I look forward to seeing your learner in class! 

⇢ Week of (11/10/24): Discussing technology we use in our learning and play. English vocabulary: computer, tablet, laptop, mouse, phone, headphones. Ask and answer questions about technology. Conjugate verbs related to technology

⇢ Week of (11/17/24): Discussing school. Vocabulary: school, classroom, music class, art class, math class, English class, hallway, library, playground. Ask and answer questions about school. Conjugate verbs related to school.

⇢ Week of (11/24/ 24): No Class. Teacher holiday (Thanksgiving).

⇢ Week of (12/1/24): Discussing the classroom. Vocabulary: school, classroom, teacher, student, desk, whiteboard, chair, books, homework, rules. Ask and answer questions about classrooms . Conjugate verbs related to our classroom.


⇢ Week of (12/8/ 24): Discussing Family. Vocabulary: Mom, dad, brother, sister, grandma, grandpa, aunt, uncle, cousin. Ask and answer questions about family. Conjugate verbs related to family. 

⇢ Week of (12/15/ 24) Discussing our homes. Vocabulary: Living room, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, table, chair, lamp, sofa, bed, mirror wardrobe. Ask and answer questions about our homes. Conjugate verbs related to our homes.
Learning Goals
Learners will gain confidence and skill in speaking to one another in English. They will learn English vocabulary in the topics of, technology, school, home, and family. They will practice speaking using correct English grammar.

Parental Guidance
Canva and Google Slides will be used in the classroom to present lesson content. No subscription is needed to join in the learning.

Hello, I'm Ms. Heather!  I live near the mountains in Idaho and I love reading, gardening, and  hiking. But most of all, I love teaching and helping learners grow their skills and confidence!

My Classes:
* Kindergarten Learning Circle - Fun reading, math and social time (offered as both a one-time class and a 1×week ongoing class). I teach 1-2 new letters/sounds each week in both formats.
* Just For You K-2nd Reading Tutoring - One -on-one class for beginning readers   (Ongoing- choose 1× or 2× a week)
* Just For You ESL - One-on-one class for English language learners. (Ongoing - choose 1× or 2× a week).
* Number Bond Math classes- Various party-themed classes that introduce number bonds for addition and subtraction. (2 day class).
*Kindergarten Check In- 1:1 practice of Letters/ Phonics/ Writing learners first name (one time class).
* I Love Math! - Small group class ( 1-3 learners) -ongoing 1x per week class to practice kindergarten number sense, number writing,  2D and 3Dshapes, addition, subtraction, and much more.

 My goals are to make classes fun and educational, and for every child to feel valued and empowered.  I look forward to meeting your learner!
