Class Experience
Does your child need practice speaking English with an insightful and friendly certified teacher? I use multi-sensory instruction to engage my learners. Multi-sensory instruction is a way of teaching that engages more than one sense at a time. Through the Outschool platform, learners will not only visually see me and the Canva slides, but they will hear me teaching and may hear audio on the slides. They may also be asked to find something around them that is soft, or moves (depending on the...
Learners will improve their speaking skills. This class is great for ELL students, but is open to anyone wanting to learn new vocabulary and gain confidence with public speaking skills. Each class we will focus on different topics. Slides with pictures and text will be used to drive instruction. Examples of topics include: My Favorite Foods, My Hobbies, My Family, My Country, My Favorite Holidays, etc. Students will have the opportunity to practice English with a certified, fluent, elementary school teacher and their peers. Conversation will be guided by Mrs. Amy and corrected with kindness and patience (when needed).
I have 18 years of experience teaching students English conversational skills in public school, private school and online platforms. I am a certified teacher with an ELL teaching endorsement.
Bring an award you earned, or a toy. This will be used to introduce yourself in the beginning of the class.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
