This course is designed for Year 3 & 4 learners planning to sit secondary school entrance examinations. It will focus on the English part of the exams. Learners will be prepared for a variety of test types, both in terms of knowledge and exam technique. The course will cover the content for both the CEM and GL 11+ tests, as well as entrance exams for independent schools. Learners will consolidate, develop and extend their learning across the key areas of English: Grammar, Punctuation, Spelling, Writing and Writer's Techniques They will be equipped with the English skills needed for secondary school entrance exams such as the 11+ Plus.

Learners will be given worksheets to print out and bring to each class. They should also have a good selection of writing equipment. It would be useful for learners to have a small notebook to keep a dictionary of new and interesting words that they come across during the course.
