Description

Class Experience

Phonics based on the Orton-Gillingham sequence will be taught.
I am a very patient, creative and upbeat teacher. I want kids to look forward to my lessons and learn as much as possible.  
Just a sampling of the English phonics we'll be covering throughout the course: closed syllables, open syllables, word families, k and c, long and short vowels, digraphs, vowel teams, blends, prefixes, and more. 

NOTE: This is a very basic English phonemic awareness reading class.

Our goals are to practice and keep sharp the phonics sounds. Phonic sounds create words, which create sentences, which create paragraphs, which all lead to ideas, thoughts, and expression.

I have been trained in the Orton-Gillingham Reading Program. 
I have worked with students who have Dyslexia and ADHD. 
I have taught for 14 years in the public school and for 4 years ESL online.

Paper and pencil to write the sounds and words is optional.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:gifs

20 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
