In this class, I'll read with expression at least 1 Frog and Toad story. During the story, I'll ask questions and encourage learners to make predictions about what might happen next, or how one of the characters might feel, etc. After the story, we will take turns sharing what we thought about the story as well as anything else such as our favorite part, etc. I'll share an example of a prompt with learners such as "I thought it was funny when _______________". I enjoy reading stories to my own child as a mom and as a teacher to other children. I hope your child enjoys the class as much as I'll enjoy teaching!
Learning Goals
Learners will practice listening to the story as well as making predictions about what may happen next, answering questions to check for understanding of the story, and sharing their opinions etc..

I am an experienced online English as a Second Language teacher as well as other subjects, and a mom of an elementary age child. classes.
I have been teaching online English classes to ESL students since 2012. Currently, I work for another company where I tutor children in K-12th grade depending on the subject.
I joined Outschool because I enjoy making my own classes and teaching people from around the world. As of now, I've taught someone from all continents except Antarctica and Africa.
Before teaching online, I was an Elementary substitute classroom teacher, nanny, and tutor.
I enjoy teaching and interacting with children all of ages. Some students have told me they wish class time wasn't over or how they had so much fun! I am able to be serious and also funny with puppets or other props depending on the learner's age. I am a friendly teacher with a calm presence and have seen shy students warm up to talking once they get used to me.
I have been told and know I do a great job building a connection with students and encouraging participation.
I am a published children's author of short children's stories meant for ESL students that are available in Asia. I have copies of my books within reach if there's a time to read from them like in a tutoring class. I'd be more than happy to read and discuss the short stories.
My family likes to play tennis, play games, and travel in addition to being creative and curious about life! We are looking forward to our next cruise this Summer.
I sincerely look forward to teaching your learner in one of my classes.
