Class Experience

*Students will be able to compare and contrast two endangered animals and their habitats after learning about the two animals separately.

*We will focus on characteristics of each animal, such as:
Appearance
Behavior
Diet
Habitat

*After learning about each animal, we will complete a simple, prewriting/brainstorming activity by comparing and contrasting the two animals using a preprinted Venn diagram by drawing lines to the appropriate circles. We will complete this activity in class.

*Students can bring crayons, coloring pencils, or markers to class to complete class handouts that will be provided before each class.

*My class structure will consist of students following along with the lesson through a presentation of pictures and information, coloring on their handouts, completing the preprinted Venn diagram by simply drawing lines to the appropriate circles, and having the opportunity to also answer questions.

*Lastly, we will have a "share time" at the end of class for students to express their interesting information about the animals as well.

*Schedule:
Week of October 11: Javan Rhinoceros & Asian Elephant
Week of October 18: Mountain Gorilla & Orangutan
Week of October 25: Tiger & Snow Leopards
Week of November 1: Leatherback Turtles & Vaquita (Porpoises)
