In this class, we will be discussing the adventures of Leroy Brown as he uses his quick whit and knowledge of random trivia to help solve mysteries all around town. Of course, no one actually called him Leroy; everyone just calls him Encyclopedia. There are clues and chances to solve mysteries on every page. But, can you solve the mystery before Encyclopedia? Let's find out together! Class will consist of instructor-directed discussion. Discussion topics will include the reader's favorite moments in the story, parts of the story they found the most exciting, or who their favorite characters were and why. The class will conclude with a review of our feelings and opinions as we decide if we would recommend this book to a friend. We will discuss several literary elements such as setting and theme, all of which will be available on a printable page in the classroom during the week of class. Psst! You do not have to read the whole series to enjoy this story! Please do your reading before class time and remember to not let out any spoilers! All students are asked to have their cameras on as it helps keep students engaged and encourages conversation. Please raise your hand if you are ready to comment and respect the commentary of all other students by not interrupting.
