Students will Create Learn about re-purposing Brainstorm and Design
I have been a certified teacher in Kentucky for 15 years. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and have made many crafts such as these with students. I love teaching students to re-purpose what they have around the house and be creative!
Lesson 1 Week of June 20 - 25 -Tissue paper roses and coffee filter butterflies for Isabela *Tissue paper (whatever colors you have left over from gifts) *paper plate to use to help draw a circle for cutting *pencil *scissors *Glue *Washable markers *clothes pin or large paper clip Lesson 2 Week of June 27 - July 2 -Create the Encanto candle out of an empty toilet paper roll for Abuela *Empty toilet paper roll painted white before class *Gold glitter glue *Pencil *Tissue paper *Battery powered tea light candle Lesson 3 Week of July 4 - 9 -Paint rocks to look like cacti for Luisa *small rocks that you can fit in your hand (I will be using smooth round ones) *Acrylic paint - pink, yellow, green and white *1/2 inch brush *smaller brush for details (I will be using a 2/32") Lesson 4 Week of July 11 - 16 -Paper plate toucan for Antonio *Paper Plate (1!) *Scissors *Pencil *Acrylic Paint- black, green, red, blue, yellow and orange *Paint Brushes *Tape Lesson 5 Week of July 18 - 23 -Design your own door shoebox craft for Mirabel *Shoe box (the lighter the color, the better) *Acrylic paint- Gold and paint colors that you like because this project is about you! *Pencil *Paint brushes *Button *Glue Lesson 6 Week of July 25 - 30 -Create The Casa Madrigal bird feeder out of an empty milk carton *Empty Milk carton (you can use a jug but a carton looks better) *Acrylic paint- red, orange, yellow *Washi tape or colored tape (purple, yellow and blue are best but whatever you have will work- bright colors are best) *Black permanent marker *Scissors *Bird seed *String to tie the milk carton to a tree *Whole punch
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
