30 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
In this one-time class, learners will explore and learn about feelings and their meaning. They will also get to explore the reasons we feel different emotions and how these emotions might feel in our body. We will focus on the six universal feelings of happy, sad, angry, scared, surprised and disgusted. Through interactive activities learners will be supported to recognise emotions and will be prompted to think of and give an example of when they experienced these feelings or felt that way in the past. Learners will also learn strategies to cope and manage with uncomfortable feelings. We will focus on feeling angry, sad, and worried/afraid and we will explore tools and strategies that children can use on the spot to manage these big emotions. This is an interactive class, and students will have plenty of opportunities to join in and participate in the lesson. They will have the chance to share and talk about their experiences, interact with their classmates, and try emotional regulation strategies.
