Class Experience

In this 8-week course, students will learn about the ability to be smart about feelings, our own and other people's so, we can understand and act on thoughts in an effective way. They will also learn mindful breathing techniques, how to raise focus, curiosity and compassion. This class is for everyone who wants to experience the benefits of mindfulness and meditation. They are excellent tools that can help kids/teens to cope better, be more focused, train their brain and support their heart to feel more joy. Practicing mindfulness/meditation daily is like gaining a superpower that help us overcome situations we could face every day. 

In this course we will meet once a week and here are the topics I will be covering. 

📌1st  week: What does it mean to be present?
📌2nd week: Body, breath and movement.
📌3rd week:  Mindfulness around you.
📌4th week:  Labeling emotions.
📌5th week:  Describing emotions.
📌6th week:  Identifying emotions in the body.
📌7th week:  Describing others emotions. 
📌8th week: Butterfly  Hug

 A typical class session looks like: 
-Physical warms up  
-Breathing Practice and Mindfulness activities 
-Talking/sharing thoughts, feeling 
-Cool down / Closing

Parental Guidance
This class will not cover any sensitive topics and students do not have to share personal information related to personal social challenges or experiences.
Supply List
- Quiet space to do the practice free of distractions 
- Yoga mat, blanket or towel (Optional/Not Required) 
-Pen/Pencil and paper
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
