Have you ever wondered how veterinarians handle emergency situations? Have you thought about how to prepare for your own pet's emergency medical needs? In this course we will cover a few basics of feline first aid and run through some sample cat cases that a companion animal veterinarian might see. By the end of the class, you will also have the information needed to construct a pet first aid kit on your own. We will cover questions such as: - What are some signs a cat is experiencing a medical emergency? - What are some feline conditions commonly seen by emergency veterinarians? - What supplies should I have in a pet first aid kit? - What are some things I can do to reduce the chances of my pet needing emergency care? Finally, although I am a licensed veterinarian and love the subject, I will not be able to answer health questions regarding learners' personal animals. If your pet is experiencing a medical issue, please have the animal seen by your local veterinarian.

Parental Guidance
We will discuss real life medical conditions that affect cats. Images may include injured pets, surgery, or other medical-related content that may be disturbing to sensitive learners. While I do not consider the content especially graphic, if this type of material is not a good fit for your learner, it would be best not to enroll in the class.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
