Class Experience
Remote learning is new to students of all ages with that comes the task of emails, calendar events, and reminders. Students will learn to manage email, calendars, and reminders for remote learning. Students will learn to create folders and categorize emails while setting up reminders and adding calendar events. Students will learn to set up contacts from emails. Students will improve their understanding of email management, calendar events, and creating reminders with todo lists. Students will improve their schedule with the calendar that is in the email system for better time management.
Ruth has been a computer science teacher for 17 years. The last 9 years have been with high school and college-age students working partially on life-skills that include time management. Ruth has been a computer science teacher of ages in beginning computer science courses.
Students will work with their email, calendar, and reminders during the week to get familiar with their system on their own.
Students will need their email system that is used for school: Microsoft or Google
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
There will be informal assessment by quizzing the students on functions of email, calendar, and reminders.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
