During this engaging class, we will learn about couplet poems and create some about Christmas elves and holiday treats. A couplet poem usually has 2 lines that rhyme. For example, "sweet" and "eat" could be used. Additionally, each line has about the same number of syllables. Students will be given examples and support throughout the writing process. This class is taught in English.
There is no homework.
1 file available upon enrollmentLearners will need paper, pencils, and an eraser. Some learners like to add color or art to their work, so they may want to bring things like crayons or markers. Lastly, learners can share items related to the topic.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
This Christmas poetry class has a secular and creative focus. Magical things (e.g., talking gingerbread cookies) will be discussed. Learners do not have to write about anything they do not like or believe in.
