Description
Class Experience
This is a fun lesson where the students will learn how to create a pokemon character as specified by the birthday student.
My favorite part about teaching art classes is when I get to see the world through the eyes of the students by viewing their interpretations of the assignments I give them in class. I have been teaching art for almost 20 years now, and feel qualified to teach this class to all students. As mentioned in my teacher profile I have 10 years of experience teaching early education pre-K classes, in both North Carolina and Utah. I have been able to use my degrees in Visual Arts with a focus on Art History from NCSU and my Associate in Arts from Wake Tech Community College, to teach kids and adults: various art classes here in North Carolina for the past 7 years. With my scouting connections I have had 5 years experience teaching science and history classes in North Carolina and Florida. Whether it was as a Co-Op teacher for my local home school groups, Art merit Badge Counselor for the local Boy Scout clinic, teaching STEAM classes for Cub Scouts, Nail art and Jewelry Crafting to teenage girls in my church, or summer art classes through my business, The Painting Panda, I love being able to share what I have learned!
All students will need a pencil and eraser for any class offered. Colored Pencils: specific colors for the pokemon to be colored Crayons: specific colors for the pokemon to be colored Watercolor class: 2 brushes, 1-2 watercolor paper, set of watercolor paint, paper towels, cup of water Oil pastel class: oil pastel set of any number, construction paper or pastel drawing paper Finger paint class: specified colors of finger paint or acrylic paint (see video in the classroom as well), 8x10 canvas or canvas board, table cloth, paper towels, smock Acrylic paint class: specified colors of acrylic paint (see video in the classroom as well), 8x10 canvas or canvas board, table cloth, paper towels, smock, 1 large flat tipped brush with synthetic bristles, 1 small (thin pointy tipped) detail brush with synthetic bristles
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
If this is your learner's first Outschool class I recommend getting familiar with the Zoom interface and platform before the class starts. Outschool has a few articles and videos that can help. Unfortunately I am really unable to deal with any technical issues once class has begun and if you are experiencing issues, it's best to contact technical support at Outschool directly via the HELP tab on the website. https://support.outschool.com/en/articles/2133758-live-class-troubleshooting-tips-for-parents https://support.outschool.com/en/articles/802757-tips-for-your-first-outschool-class Parents, in order for us to make this the very smoothest process for us all getting this set up, you will be given the full price of the class for all 10 spots (including the birthday child in that number), then I will change the price to $1 for each parent of the guest students to pay and get their login info. As soon as each parent signs up and pays the $1, it is refunded back. This is the system Outschool has set for birthday parties at this point. It is up to the host parent to let their guests know how to sign up, give them the link, and let them know about the refunded $1 just to get the login info.

About Me
Hey Ya'll! I am not your typical art teacher who teaches from a mold, and expects kids to fit into a box. Being taught with that mindeset prevented true creativity, self exploration and expression, and any honest confidence in my...
