Class Experience

Students will be able to identify & recite the ABC’s; write the individual letters; phonetically sound out the letters & phonic blends as we focus on fundamental English reading & speaking skills; recognize, read, & spell basic sight words; identify, recite, and count using numbers in English from 1 to 20; distinguish & sort between colors & shapes; read basic English text & sentences structures.
As a teacher with a Master’s Degree in Teaching & over 30 years of experience working with children of various ages, and more than 7 years teaching English, Reading, Writing, and other basic language skills, I am very excited to offer this course on Outschool! I have my TEFL Certificate as an Online ELL/ESL teacher, and have enjoyed working with learners of various ages to obtain fluency in the English language. I especially have enjoyed teaching pre-K & Kindergarten-aged students the skills they will need as they move into a formal educational arena!
My hope is to help your youngster grow in their understanding & usage of English, as well as give them the reading, writing, and arithmetic skills they will use throughout their lives, while also instilling in them the ability to work well with others in an online setting, all while having a blast! Come learn with me, my friends!
There is no homework for this course, however, teacher will add additional learning materials to practice reading, writing, counting, and more in the Outschool classroom for those who truly want to learn more & to enrich the child’s learning experience.
Learners should have paper, pencils/pens, and crayons (or a whiteboard with markers) available for each class as we will be practicing writing & spelling. All additional learning materials needed will be available for download in the Outschool classroom.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
There is no formal assessment for this course, however, the teacher will utilize a variety of methods to determine that learning has occurred, including: interactive games, in-class reviews, as well as other fun, interactive activities.
2 hours 5 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Each learner will need help from parents to sign on to our Outschool Class each day & to learn how to mute & unmute themselves. Teacher will have learners muted during the “instructional” time of our class, so Parents will need to show their child how to “unmute” themselves as we begin to interact with each other, sing, play games, read together, etc.
*If your child is new to English Learning, it is recommended parents sit with the child for the first few lessons. This will allow the learner to not feel overwhelmed as this class is taught completely in English.
