In this one-time course students will make elf slime. We will briefly discuss chemistry. Students will mix the ingredients together to make red or green elf slime. Students will have time to explore and play with their elf slime. We will discuss what happens when we pull the elf slime quickly versus when we pull it slowly. We will discuss how slime is a non-Newtonian fluid. We will identify some other non-Newtonian fluids. Students may mix colors together if they want. Students do not need to have any prior knowledge or experience in order to take this course. Note: You can store the slime in a covered container.

Supply List
2 bottles of Elmer's clear washable school glue 1/4 to 1/2 cup of liquid starch (Lin it or Sta Flo Brand) food coloring (red or green) glitter (optional) water 2 bowls 1/2 cup - measuring cup 1/4 cup - measuring cup (You need a separate measuring cup for the liquid starch.) 2 spoons 1 to 2 covered containers to store the slime

Hello! I am Christine Booker. I have a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Elementary Education. I am certified to teach all subject areas K-6 for regular education and special education.
I have been teaching for over 20 years. I taught sixth grade for eleven years, third grade for two years, and first grade for the past nine years. I have also taught online ESL (English as a Second Language) classes for the past three years.
