US Grade 8
This class is for students who want to learn/review grade 8 math this summer. Gain confidence and relieve math anxiety in this small, supportive group. This class is highly interactive, and everyone is encouraged to participate! We will build our community at the beginning of each class, solve real life problems in every class, write on the interactive whiteboard, and take pencil to paper. After each class, I will send you the whiteboard notes and assign practice. It's up to you to do the practice... but, it's worth it! I help students see themselves as confident and competent MATHEMATICIANS who are able to apply their math knowledge both in and out of the classroom. 💥Structure of Classes: - students build community through discussion of non-math topic - learn new concept when the teacher shows how "I Do" - practice concept with teacher: "we do" - work individually on problem set questions, with teacher checking work: "you do" - homework practice provided after class 💥I expect students to come to class with videos on, pencils and handouts (or a notebook) ready!
Learning Goals
Students will become more confident with their grade 8 math skills.
