Elephant and Piggie are two best friends who love to explore the world, use their imaginations, try new things and just have fun! This is a multi-day class that will meet once a week to read an Elephant and Piggie book (schedule is below). You are welcome to join in any time! ** I also offer many of these books in "Read and Draw" classes on a one-time basis if this multi-day schedule doesn't work for you. This is part 1 of a multi-day book club. There are so many fun Elephant and Piggie books they can’t all fit in one short book club! Be on the lookout for part 2 with more fun Elephant and Piggie adventures! We will begin each class with greetings to each other and I will introduce the book of the day. We will stop throughout the story to laugh, giggle and answer silly questions. Elephant and Piggie provide endless opportunities to not only laugh and giggle but they tackle real life issues that can be discussed (Trying new foods, making new friends, etc). After the story each child will have the opportunity to share with the class their favorite part of the book and explain why. After we finish our story we will create a drawing from our story. These drawings will be combinations of Elephant, Piggie and other characters from the story. Each week will focus on something specific from the story. This art project will be given step by step and is perfect for beginning level artists. Once we are finished creating our picture, your child will be encouraged to add details, use many colors to finish the project and share their final result with the class. Schedule is listed below. (Many of these are also offered as one-time classes if this schedule does not fit your needs) Week 1 A Big Guy Took My Ball by Mo Willems Week 2 I Am Invited to a Party! by Mo Willems Week 3 I Will Surprise My Friend by Mo Willems Week 4 There Is a Bird on Your Head! by Mo Willems Week 5 I Will Take a Nap by Mo Willems Week 6 The Thank You Book by Mo Willems

Teacher expertise and credentials
HI! I have been teaching Kindergarten for seven years and I LOVE IT! I enjoy setting the foundations for reading, writing, math and everything in between! I love integrating art and music into my lessons because that helps make learning fun and when we're having fun, we learn even more!
I have my Masters in Early Childhood Development and I adore working with kiddos of ALL ages.
My favorite things to do when I am not teaching are camping, fishing, hiking, reading a book with a good cup of coffee and spending time with my family. I have three kids ages 16, 12, and 8 as well as a puppy!
My goal for all of my students is to feel confident, important, and know that they matter! When kids feel good about themselves and empowered, they do AMAZING THINGS!
