Mo Willems is a Theodor Seuss Geisel Medal winner and his books are loved by early readers. In this class learners will have a chance to turn their love for reading into a love for writing. This class is taught in English.
Learners will learn some basic writing skills as well as life skills. Sharing, compassion, fairness, and respect are all themes in Mo Willems books.
I have an English Literature degree, a CELTA teaching certificate, and over 15 years of teaching experience.
There will not be homework assigned, but many of the writing and drawing activities may extend beyond the class and I hope learners will have an opportunity to continue their work during the week.
Learners will need paper and a pencil for each lesson. Colored markers/crayons/colored pencils would be nice but not necessary. Many lessons will also require printed worksheets that I will send ahead of time. It would be good but not required for students to have a copy of the book as well.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
