In this 8-week course, students will learn about the 7 elements of art and create artwork based on these elements.

Description
Class Experience
Students will improve their understanding of the seven elements of art, line, color, value, shape, form, space, and texture. Students will continue to develop skills in artistic expression and artistic decision making.
The two things I love most in life is art and teaching! I have a degree in art education and have lots of experience working with young students. I think that basic understanding of art techniques and theories are important things that students should learn to not only further their art skills but also to see the beauty in the world around them!
Students may need time outside of class to finish their artwork.
Materials needed every week: Pencil, eraser, white drawing or mixed media paper Week 1: Black permanent marker, coloring materials (markers, colored pencils, or crayons) Week 2: White paper, colored paper (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple), scissors, glue Week 3: Acrylic or tempera paint (white, black paint, and one paint color of student's choice), paintbrush, cup of water, paper towels, paint palette Week 4: Colored paper, scissors, glue Week 5: Black permanent marker, coloring materials (markers, colored pencils, or crayons) Week 6: Black permanent marker, coloring materials (markers, colored pencils, or crayons) Week 7: Black permanent marker, coloring materials (markers, colored pencils, or crayons) Week 8: Student's choice of medium
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
