In this class, students will write about all the fun things they did this year. This is a great way for students to practice writing and save their most important memories on paper. Before class, I encourage students to write down some fun things they did this year. I ask students to have about five items on their list. I will show students a paragraph I wrote. This is modeling writing. It helps students see how to form sentences and how writing should look when it is complete. Next, we will work on the first sentence together and talk about the importance of a topic sentence. After, I will ask each student to write their topic sentence and begin writing their piece. At the conclusion of class, students will have their writing started. I will encourage students to continue writing. Any writing that is submitted back to me within 48 hours of the course being completed, I will look at and give advice. Students can submit many times within that 48 hours window. This class is designed to be a fun learning experience for students. After students change their writing, they should message me to look at it. Students will be asked to write in Google Docs. I will share a doc with them. This allows for student-teacher collaboration because I can look at their writing during class.
Learning Goals
Students will learn proper writing conventions.
