Class Experience
This one-time class provides an opportunity for those Halloween-lovers to expand their trick-or-treating fun, while learning the correct Spanish meaning and pronunciation of those 'spooky' Halloween words that make this holiday awesome! Learners are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes during class for a complete experience, and to learn some Spanish words related to their chosen character, so that they can start using those Spanish words right away! We will focus on understanding and...
This class is taught in Spanish.
In this 25 minute class, learners will have the opportunity to learn the meaning and pronunciation in Spanish of some of the most commonly used words and phrases during Halloween time.
Parents and learners will have access to a class document when they sign-up for class. Previous to class, it is required that the learners print out, color however they choose to, and cut the pictures as indicated. Learners will need to bring their pictures colored and cut to class, in order to engage during the lesson. At the end of all my classes, I always encourage my learners to continue to practice at home what was learned in class, to help with understanding and memorization. The beautiful pictures that they prepared before class, will facilitate this task.
-Learners are encouraged to wear an age-appropriate Halloween costume during class. -Upon sign-up for class, learners will have access to a document with the pictures that the teacher will use in class. Learners need to print, color and cut them out, and have them ready to be used in class.
Progress will be noticeable as the learners can pronounce the words that they hear from the teacher, as well as when they are able to find the correct pictures for the words that the teacher says, during a lightning-bolt exercise in class.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Please be aware that I will be presenting vocabulary words and pictures in the classroom that are related to the topic of Halloween. Some learners might find them scary. Even though learners are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes during class, please consider the age range of this class when choosing which costume to wear. Due to the age range of this class, parental supervision is required while the learners color and cut the pictures given as pre-class homework.
