Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 5
Beginner Level
This class will cover basic vocabulary in context.

I use a thematic approach to provide learners with opportunities to learn and use Spanish in their everyday life and activities.

The theme for this particular unit is Let's go to the party! You can find more units and themes on my profile. Units may be completed in any order.

Please see the syllabus to learn more about the unit objectives.

Each week you can expect a number of interactive opportunities where students can interact with the content and with a variety of silly, hands on and teacher created materials and sheets. This class will cover typical elementary Spanish concepts as if you were in the classroom. Students are asked to post photos of work and or upload work into the classroom.

Please see the syllabus for the unit objectives.

I will post a minimum of one prerecorded video each week. The video will include various stop points for the learner to engage with a worksheet or activity.

There will be 1-3 activities included in each video.

The videos that I post will be prerecording and may contain spots where I ask students to pause the video and write down answers to questions that can then be posted in the classroom.

Other times I will post directions for an activity or questions for the students to respond to in the classroom. The students can reply in the comments. Sometimes I may ask students to snap a picture of items in a scavenger hunt or worksheet and post this in the classroom.

Students should ask questions as necessary and I will reply to their submissions and questions within 24-48hours. Work for this class should take no more than 30 minutes to 1 hour per day depending on your learner. Each video contains multiple activities and you may choose to pause and complete different activities on different days.

Viewing the videos and completion of the work for each lesson should only take 1 hour to 2 hours each week depending on your learner.

Ideally student responses should be posted within the week so that the teacher can respond to posts and students do not fall behind. Since this is a true beginners course, no prerequisites are required to participate.
