Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 4
This is a course version of my current ongoing Elementary Spanish classes. It is designed for a homeschool group or similar learning pod that would like to work with the same learners consistently each week. It may be set as a private group upon request. I can also add as many weeks as you like.

This class is designed for young learners that are new to Spanish. I will use an immersion approach as much as possible where students will work with a small set of vocabulary and we will speak, read, write and listen in the target language from the beginning.

What to expect in class:
1. Each class begins with greeting everyone, asking and answering How are you? How is your weather?
2. I introduce a small set of vocabulary using pictures and props.
3. We use this vocabulary in short sentences and or play games to practice making sentences for example We make sentences like The bear is brown. The bear is big. The bear is hungry. The bear is behind the tree.

Students will need basic materials such as blank notecards and colored writing utensils of their choice: markers, pencils or crayons.

There is no prerequiste to join this class but it will be important for students to have a basic reading and writing level in their first language. An adult nearby would be essential for the youngest learners.

We will cover basic vocabulary and always use vocabulary in context such as short sentences or very small paragraphs.

Please see the vocabulary themes covered below. I utilize props, TPR, text translations, and a variety of games. I provide flashcards or hand outs in the classroom sometimes and a variety of extra practice ideas. I often ask learners to find props or toys in their home.

After class I provide an activity for extra practice. These may be submitted for feedback.

Please see the syllabus for further details.

Additional lessons can be requested if you prefer a longer course. I have years of content available.
