Description
Class Experience
By the end of class, students will have the tools to talk about places in the community, jobs people do, and what they would like to do when they are older. They will also discuss simple geography in connection with community. They will complete projects that will be presented during the course of the class. Weekly content includes the following: Places in the community Community workers and what they do What do you want to be when you grow up? Prepositions and giving directions Geographical terms and connections with community Cultural connections
There is no homework, however, parent notes, handouts, and study materials and resources are provided to practice and extend what is learned in class. Practice is essential to progress and success.
Several pages of handouts and parent notes are included for each week's practice and study. The Canvas classroom is used to house all materials.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
- Canvas classroom
Students will complete oral (and optionally, visual) projects that will be presented in designated classes. Their work will culminate in a class book that all in their section get a copy of.
1 hour 40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Spanish is a gendered language, and does not have gender-neutral articles. In general, the "they" form will be using a masculine article.
