In this one time class, we will learn how rocks are transformed through the igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic stages.

Class experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 2
Students will have a basic understanding of the rock cycle.
- Starburst Candy
- Scissors
- A source of heat (e.g., toaster oven, microwave, blow dryer)
- Tongs
- Waxed paper (cut into 15 – 20 cm squares)
- Aluminum foil (cut into 20 – 25 cm squares, with edges folded up like a dish)
- Rolling pin or heavy book
students will need supervision using a microwave or blow dryer and scissors
