Elementary Science Labs (Six Live Group Sessions)

Join us for six weeks of some of the best live science labs to try at home. We will watch dancing raisins, make colorful milk, watch colors jump right out of a cup, layer oils, and create a fun lava lamp.

Description

Class Experience

Research has shown that students who engage in well-designed laboratory experiences develop problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, as well as gain exposure to reactions, materials, and equipment in a lab setting.
Please look through the list to make sure your child doesn't have allergies to the items used. If you do not have the items or do not want to use them, your child can watch the lab instead. Recommended but not required: long sleeve button up shirt to use as a lab coat and goggles (sunglasses or swim goggles work) Dancing Raisins-raisins, water, cup, baking soda, vinegar Magic Milk-plate, skittles, milk, water Jump Back-container, water, pepper, dish soap (Dawn), glitter (optional) Color Jump-5 cups, food coloring, paper towels Density Lab-tall jar, rubbing alcohol, vegetable oil, corn syrup, milk, honey, and other oils Lava Lamp-soda bottle empty with lid, vegetable oil, Alka seltzer tablets, food coloring
35 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Please look through list of science supplies needed, in regards to allergies, etc. 
If you do not have the items or can't use the items, the student can watch the lab instead.
