Science is the best! I believe learning science should be fun & interactive! In this ongoing class, your child will learn science while doing fun activities, playing games, and/or participating in cool experiments with basic household items. If your child simply chooses to observe, that's okay too! Students will have a blast learning, while building their socialization and presenting skills. --- WHAT TO EXPECT--- We will be meeting once a week and each week will be a different theme/lesson. Week 1/17 - 1/21: Balloon Fun: Chemical Reaction Week 1/24 - 1/28: How Do Penguins Stay Dry? Week 1/31 - 2/4: It's Blubberific! Week 2/7 - 2/11: Valentine's Sink or Float Week 2/14 - 2/18: Valentine's Bubbly Slime Week 2/21 - 2/25: Water Cycle Week 2/28 - 3/4: Tornado In a Bottle Week 3/7 - 3/11: Volcano Eruption Week 3/14 - 3/18: Do Plants Drink? Week 3/21 - 3/25: 5 Senses (Sight & Hearing) Week 3/28 - 4/1: 5 Senses (Smell & Taste) Week 4/4 - 4/8: 5 Senses (Feel) Week 4/11 - 4/15: Our Heart ----Participation---- This class is interactive. Participating in experiments are optional and students can simply watch me do it if desired. Younger students may need help throughout the activities/experiments. Students will have an opportunity to participate in open discussion, answer questions, ask questions, and present their work/experiment. Participation will be encouraged but not required. ----My Teaching Style---- I understand that each child learns differently. My teaching style is interactive and I love incorporating story time, fun visuals, crafts, songs, games, and activities. My goal is to ensure that every student in my classroom has the ability to gain knowledge, whether that is scaffolding down to meet your child's needs or extending the concepts for more advanced learners. Each student in my class is equally important, and I strive to ensure that your child will learn in my classroom.
Learning Goals
Each week there will be a new theme/lesson. Your child will love to learn about Science and have fun socializing with other students.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello,
I'm Teacher Ely! I am very excited for the opportunity to teach your child on Outschool. I hold a Master's degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Human Resources. I also earned my Esthetician license and love anything about skin, makeup, and spa. I started teaching on the Outschool platform since August of 2020 and have already had the privilege of teaching 480+ students. In addition, I have taught English as a secondary language to students between ages 3-13 for the last year. I also homeschooled my 2 children and have had the opportunity to teach in various co-op homeschool gatherings with children ages 0-10. This has allowed me to develop effective communication, with an emphasis on structure, expectations, objectives, teachable moments, and using three key components: visual, presentation, and hands-on approach. It is very important to bring a variety of components into the classroom because not every child learns the same way or at the same pace.
My goal is to ensure that every student in my classroom has the ability to gain knowledge, whether that is scaffolding down to meet your child's needs or extending the concepts for more advanced learners. Each student in my class is equally important, and I strive to ensure that your child will learn in my classroom. There is a balance to learning; it is all about keeping your child engaged in the lesson and eager to learn more.
One fun fact about me is that I have moved 12 times in the last nine years. I look forward to seeing your child in my classroom!
