Note: Please contact me if you can not find a time that fits your schedule. I may be able to move classes with no enrollments around to accommodate your schedule:) This course is designed to be personalized, one on one tutoring in any elementary or middle school math topic at parent request. I can tutor in any elementary math concept as well as middle school pre-algebra and beginning algebra concepts. I can not help with middle school geometry. I will customize our math lesson to meet your child's needs. Math can be tricky for students especially with the push to explain their thinking. I enjoy finding new and creative ways to help students gain confidence in their math skills. Students will need paper and a pencil for this class. I will not assign homework but the student is welcome to bring their homework to class. Progress will be evaluated via observation and progress checks. I have taught K through 5th grade and tutored in middle school so I am very comfortable with math. After you sign up please email to let me know what you would like your child to work on. I need to know what you would like for us to work on at least 24 hours before I meet with your child so I can plan for our meeting. Ongoing sections run from January to May, June to August, and September to December.

I am a licensed elementary school teacher with endorsements in Gifted education and in Teaching Students of Other Languages. I have over 20 years of classroom teaching and tutoring experience. My passion is gifted education and math. I love finding new ways to engage students and help them feel that anything is possible. My favorite quote by Zig Ziglar is: "If you can dream it, you can achieve it." I teach a variety of courses and continue to create new courses based on parent feedback/requests and my creativity. I like to teach courses in reading, writing, math, and project based learning. I love teaching math classes as it is one of those subjects where there are many ways to solve the problem.
I love learning and find myself in graduate school often. So far I have already earned my B.S. in Elementary Education which was followed by an M.Ed. in Corporate Training and Knowledge Management, an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Gifted and Talented Education, and an M.Ed. in Teaching Students of Other Languages.
