Class Experience

Join me for an ongoing fun & engaging elementary general music class for 2nd & 3rd graders  by a former elementary music public school teacher. We will cover music exploration and the FUNdamentals of music through song, dance, games, and more! 


👉 This class is perfect for any 2nd or 3rd Grade level student who wants to have a music education from home!


C L A S S   S C H E D U L E :  

    🎼  Week of November 27th: perform rhythms with “Overture" from the Nutcracker, “Cold Snap” Dance, sing "Rocks for Christmas”,  
    🎼  Week of December 4th: rhythms with Jingle Bells, sing “Ring, Ring, Ring the Bells”, sort unpitched instruments into families, Decorate the Tree (half note rhythms)
    🎼  Week of December 11th: perform rhythms with "Deck the Halls", hand clapping game for "We Wish You A Merry Christmas”
    🎼  Week of December 18th: sing "Makin' Christmas Cookies”, Holiday Baking Rhythm Sort, Sing Solfa Patterns to Decorate Christmas Cookies
    🎼  Week of December 25th: NO CLASS
    🎼  Week of January 1st: NO CLASS

**Lessons are designed to accommodate both new & returning students each week. No previous knowledge required.

🎵 Fun vocal warm ups and songs incorporating body movement, funny tongue twisters, and silly sounds
🎵 Movement
🎵 Musical Concepts (rhythms, solfege, dynamics, genre, cultural music, etc.)
🎵 Application (games, activities, performances, etc.)

🎵 Rhythm: ta, ti-ti, rests, and half notes

🎼 I love to keep students engaged by incorporating many different types of musical activities in one lesson that all connect, so they continue to feel excited and motivated throughout our lesson. We’ll constantly be moving, playing, and learning through a variety of activities!

Learning Goals
✔ Students can classify instruments into metals, woods and membranes.
✔ Students can sing simple songs, using my head voice and maintaining pitch.
✔ Students can read and notate rhythmic patterns with quarter notes, eighth notes, quarter rests, and half notes.
✔ Students can read and notate patterns with do, re, mi, so, and la.
✔ Students can compare aural melodic patterns with written patterns to determine whether they are the same or different.
✔ Students can use the terms piano and forte to describe when music is soft and loud.
✔ Students can perform and discuss songs, musical games, dances and simple accompaniments from a variety cultures.
