Join me for an ongoing fun & engaging elementary general music class for 4th & 5th graders by a former elementary music public school teacher. We will cover music exploration and the FUNdamentals of music through song, dance, games, and more! 👉This class is perfect for any 4th or 5th Grade level student who wants to have a music education from home! C L A S S S C H E D U L E : 🎼 Week of November 27th: Half Note review (listen, clap, say), La/So/Mi review, “My Bonnie” song, performing rhythms at different tempos, music staff notes on lines 🎼 Week of December 4th: intro to half rest, rhythm reading with Nutcracker Overture, La/So/Mi review, “My Bonnie” song review, music staff notes on lines+ spaces 🎼 Week of December 11th: intro to whole note, rhythm reading with "Dance of the Mirlitons" from the Nutcracker, "Winter is Here" song + name the rhythms and notes on staff 🎼 Week of December 18th: Sing "Batman Smells”, learn dance to "Deck the Halls”, Hand Clap Game to "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" 🎼 Week of December 25th: NO CLASS 🎼 Week of January 1st: NO CLASS **Lessons are designed to accommodate both new & returning students each week. No previous knowledge required. C L A S S R O U T I N E : 🎵 Fun vocal warm ups and songs incorporating body movement & funny tongue twisters 🎵 Musical Concepts (rhythms, solfege, dynamics, genre, cultural music, composition, improvisation, etc.) 🎵 Application (games, activities, performances, etc.) 🎵 Performance (group or individual) M U S I C A L C O N C E P T S : 🎵 Folk Songs 🎵 Rhythm: quarter, eighth, half, and whole notes & their rests 🎵 Solfege: Do, Re, Mi, So, La, Do / Pentatonic Scale 🎵 Dynamics: pp, p, mp, mf, f, ff 🎵 Instruments: instruments of the orchestra, band, and other ensembles 🎵 Composition: ostinatos, basic improvisation 🎵 Genres: orchestra, jazz, folk, etc. 🎵 Basic improvisation 🎵 Songs, dances, and games from a variety of cultures 🎵 Seasonal songs + activities (holidays, seasons, etc.) T E A C H I N G C R E D E N T I A L S + S T Y L E : 🎼 Bachelors of Music Education Degree from Florida State University 🎼 3+ years of classroom teaching experience 🎼 Mentored by Grammy-nominated "Best Music Educator" 🎼 I love to keep students engaged by incorporating many different types of musical activities in one lesson that all connect, so they continue to feel excited and motivated throughout our lesson.
