This summer we will explore instruments from around the world; including Mexico (Coco), Norwegian (Frozen), Native American (Pocahontas), Colombia (Encanto), and more! A virtual general music class using the music of Disney and other similar films to showcase the power of how music changes our perception of story and emotions. We will study the instrument families and how they are showcased in various forms. We will study the power of words in different songs and learn to write our own lyrics for a song. We will have units studying Moana, Frozen, Fantasia, Fantasia 2000, Big Hero 6, Trolls, and more! I will work to engage the levels of each student through targeted questions and age appropriate worksheets/activities. The class is designed so that each lesson is independent and no prior attendance or experience is necessary. Sometimes we look at other age appropriate films like Despicable Me, Harry Potter, Star Wars, etc...
