US Grade Kindergarten - 3
As a former 2nd grade teacher, I know first hand how tricky math concepts can be! I also know how important foundational skills are for mastering math in the primary grades. My tutoring program is designed to help students at many different levels of understanding so every child can learn and grow in their knowledge and application of math skills. This class is perfect for students who need extra help and reinforcement in addition, subtraction, number sense, place value, telling time, money, fractions and so much more! Whether you are looking for homework help or mini-lessons to help with reinforcement, this class has it covered! This class is flexible and can be tailored to meet the specific needs of the learners enrolled. What will be taught? K-3rd grade level -Basic computations: addition, subtraction, multiplication & division -Fractions -Graphing, Measurement & Data -Telling Time -Story Problems -Counting Money -Place Value What is my teaching style? I love a combination of game-based learning as well as flashcards and worksheets. I love to play gameshow style games, memory games, using real coins, base ten blocks, clocks etc. I think it is important to teach to a variety of learning styles. Math 'clicks' for everyone in a different way and at a unique pace. If you would like for your child to have homework help, I request the homework sent to me at least 24 hours prior to the tutoring session. If it is sent past that time, we will do review activities instead.
