Class format: 1. Student and teacher introductions. 2. Class discussion of prior knowledge of fractions. 3. Teacher introduction of strategy to determine if two fractions are equivalent. 4. Guided practice with the teacher using the strategy. 5. Student practice with the teacher available to help as needed. 6. Extra practice posted in the classroom upon request. Students will learn one simple strategy to determine if two fractions are equivalent. If time allows, students will play Quizizz to practice the new strategy.
