Class Experience
Bonjour! My name is Laura. I teach the class in French and I do translate as needed to help the learners to understand and memorize what they are learning. The class is for children from 8 to 11 years old. All are welcome but taking Loustics 2 before is recommended. We will read, listen to audio extracts, we will write sentences, work on paragraphs and conjugation, and sometimes have projects to create! The class is structured and part of a yearlong curriculum with new French things to...

They will practice and use the "passé composé" They will learn to practice how to conjugate pronominal verbs in the present tense They will practice their French writing each week and are encouraged to speak in full sentences. They will practice proper word linking and the articles. They will learn to speak French with the proper intonation.
I have over 20 years of experience in teaching languages (French and Italian) and I hold a certificate in teaching French as a Foreign Language. "Enseigner le français en langue étrangère aujourd'hui" by the Alliance Française de Vichy, France.
There is no homework 'per se' but learners are strongly encouraged to finish any work not done during class and practice regularly what have learned.
I do informal assessments as we go during the weeks and a final review of the unit to evaluate and correct what needs to be improved. I encourage the learners to stay organized with their workbooks.
40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
