Elementary Beginner Spanish Club ~ Part 3 (3 of 9)

Come sing, move and play games in Spanish! Students will take what they learned in Parts 1 & 2 and extend their conversations. In Part 3, students will learn to count by 10s to 100, talk about things they like to do, describe places, name rooms in a house, and more! This class is part of an 8-part series of classes!

Homework
1 hour per week. Optional worksheets, videos, and games will be sent out after each class to practice concepts learned in class.
Assessment
All students will receive a certificate of completion for their attendance and participation in class.

Class Experience

¡Hola! 

Come sing, move and play games in Spanish!  We will take what we learned in Parts 1 & 2  and extend our conversations.  In Part 3, we will learn to count by 10s to 100, talk about things we like to do, describe places, name parts of the house, and more!   “Elementary Spanish Part 1 & Part 2” is preferred as a prerequisite or 1 year of previous Spanish experience.    All classes will include some singing and games to maintain high interest! 

Weeks 1 & 2 Topics:  
 I know frequently used classroom phrases. 
I can count by 10s to 100. 
I can name my favorite color. (Mi color favorite es el _____________.)
I know helpful Spanish phrases.  (I don’t know.  Help me.  How do you say?)
I can have a mini-conversation.  

Weeks 3 & 4 Topics:
I can count by 10s to 100.
I can say what day it is.
I can say where I live.  (Yo vivo en _____________.)
I can say if a place is a city or town.   (la ciudad, el pueblo)

Weeks 5-8 Topics:
I can count by 10s to 100.
I can name rooms in a house. (living room, bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, office)
I can name city places. (park, school, hospital, post office, fire station, police station, hotel, playground)
I can say where family members are located in a house.
I can say where pets are located in a house and city.

Weeks 9-12 Topics:
I can recall previously learned concepts. (numbers, days of the week, conversation)
I can say if I like to do various activities.  (run, walk, dance, play,  read, play video games, watch T.V.)  I can name various sports.
 I can name 1 thing I like to do and 1 thing I do not like to do.  (Me gusta _________. / No me gusta _________.)

Weeks 13 & 14 Topics:
I can recall previously learned concepts. 
I can say how old I am. (Review from Part 2)
I can tell you about myself.  (Name, age, where I live, what I like to do for fun, favorite color)

Weeks 15 & 16 Topics:
I can recall previously learned concepts.
I can create a project to demonstrate learning.  
Class 1: directions and group practice
Class 2: presentations and celebrations! 🎉

Learning Goals

Students will improve their basic Spanish speaking skills and foster excitement for language learning!  See the class "I can statements." for specific content that will be learned in the class.
