Class Experience
I apply Orton-Gillinghman principles to help students improve spelling outcomes. Through auditory (listening to the word), visual (piecing together the language rules) and kinesthetic/tactile (actual writing) modalities, students will work on spelling better. This practice helps to improve reading skills as learners associate the phoneme to letters as they read and write. The final writing activity gives additional practice to help students correctly spell high frequency words, capitalize...
Students will improve spelling by matching the sound to symbol alphabet rules.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
- Jeopardy
- Kahoot
- Brainpop
35 minutes per class, and maybe some time outside of class.
The external resources will be presented as a share screen. Students are not required to log in to access anything.
